adidas Originals | 1949 - Now
You'll be hard-pressed finding someone who hasn't heard of adidas Originals in this day and age, which makes announcing this latest drop to our proverbial shelves all the more exciting.
In the game since 1949, adidas is a brand who's ethos is all about sports, stories, and style. Founded by Adolf "Adi" Dassler, who began making sports shoes in his mum's laundry room, adidas are now known as one of the biggest sportswear brands in the market and as true sports footwear connoisseurs, the brand has had a pretty impressive foray into the world of footwear over the last 70 something years.
adidas Originals takes on these well-loved retro styles and makes sure they stand the test of time with a real modern upgrade. It's got everything to do with trust and consistency in the quality of the shoes that make adidas Originals a real heavy-hitter in the streetwear realm.
What's on the agenda?
The Samba:
Breaking down the adidas Originals collection with perhaps the most iconic shoe in their Roladex right now, the Samba has maintained its reputation as a technically savvy, durable, performance-led silhouette, Dropping back in the 1950's, this heritage trainer has been a classic ever since as it evolves from the sporting realm to the fashion one. Seen on the likes of Harry Styles, A$AP Rocky, and Robert Pattinson.
The Gazelle:
Originating back in the 60's, the Gazelle has become a permanent fixture in the sports/style realm. Delivering a laid-back and flexible fit, what was once relegated purely for training purposes has since had a resurgence making them an icon silhouette from court to pavement. Available in bold, statement colourways as part of the adidas Originals collection.
The Campus 00:
The ultimate fusion of sports and fashion, the Campus 00's are the street-ready version of the original 80's silhouette. Taking on signature details of the ideal basketball court shoe, the Campus style from the adidas Originals line made a real distinct move from the court to the street in the 1980's with hip-hop figures like the Beastie Boys adding a bit of flair.
The Handball Spezial:
Vintage style and modern comfort blend together with the adidas Originals Handball Spezials. Deisgned as an indoor shoe back in the 70's, these shoes have stood the test of time, crafting a name for themselves as a streetwear icon. Renowned for their versatility, these trainers are the type of shoe that, regardless of what you're wearing, they make sense.
